The Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), also commonly known as "Card Check" is among the most pressing issues to face American business in decades. Abandoning the secret ballot for union elections in favor of a simple majority card check process would fundamentally alter the labor relations playing field in the United States.
An Alabama Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) surveys suggest that most chamber executives already know the potential impact this legislation would have were it to pass, and many local chambers across the country have made their voice heard on this important issue. EFCA is the top priority for organized labor, and without an imminent presidential veto, they are motivated to push their agenda again this year. Without direct action by Chamber members, it will be difficult to halt the momentum for passage
