Focus Jackson

Partnership for the Future

The Greater Jackson County Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all Focus Jackson Investors for continuing to partner with us. The future is now for Scottsboro and Jackson County. The area, long know as a great place to live, work and play, is thriving, poised on the threshold of a new tomorrow, with expanding business opportunities, increased tourism and new residential development leading the way.

The Greater Jackson County Chamber of Commerce continues to be an active leader and facilitator in bringing together the resources of Jackson County agencies and organizations to promote cooperation, credibility, and communication while providing the means for quality growth in the community. Focus Jackson was formed to envision the future, to provide funds to facilitate growth and expansion in our community, stimulate county-wide economic development, enhance workforce education and training, and invite people to discover the historical, cultural, and recreational opportunities available in our county. We will be an advocate on the local, state, and federal level of government for pro-business legislation that promotes and is conducive to business retention and expansion.

As Focus Jackson continues moving into its second five-year phase, we will continue to be a unified voice, working and planning for an improved quality of life for our children and future generations to enjoy. Focus Jackson will be an aggressive resource to help establish goals and objectives for Jackson County and persisting in making them reality.

Below are a few of the amazing results produced by the investment of time and resources in the first five years of Focus Jackson.

  • Installed several interactive Video Conferencing units in Scottsboro and Jackson County schools.
  • Enabled the Jackson County EDA to further establish infrastructure for the Jackson County Industrial Park by assisting in obtaining money for water and sewer and roads.
  • Led effort in tourism growth over 60%.
  • Continues to organize trips to Washington D.C. twice a year and Montgomery several times a year to lobby for the needs of Jackson County.
  • Responsible for bringing major fishing tournaments to Jackson County. These tournaments have had an impact of over $3 million.
