Northeast Alabama Community College

Bright Futures and Careers Begin Here!

Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) is a comprehensive two-year institution providing excellent academic, vocational, technical, and lifelong educational opportunities for the people in the northeast Alabama region.  The College promotes economic development through partnerships with business and industry. The college was established in 1965 and is part of the state system of public colleges.  The governing board for the institution within this system is the Alabama State Board of Education. NACC is accredited by the Commision on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate Degree.

NACC serves as an excellent transition time for the young adult just out of high school where there may have been a structured regimen and an atmosphere of limited decisions.  The community college is the best enviroment for the metamorhosis from that rigid regimen to adult responsibility.  For those who have been out of school for some time or currently employed, NACC is ideal because they offer flexible class times and services.

You may choose to enroll in a university-parellel program to transfer to a four-year institution or an occupation/technical program leading to employment or upgrade skills for your current job.  NACC is a part of the state articulation system (STARS) which can be accessed at www.stars.troy.edu.  Courses are guaranteed to transfer to state pubic colleges and universities if the STARS guide is followed.
